We took the clutch cable out of my daughter car and it seems to be to long in lenght. How long should it be?

most clutch cables are somewhat longer than the minimum required to reach the clutch.  If it is too long with the adjustment nuts tightened completely, measure the excess length and take it back for a shorter one.  the one you have may be for a different year, model, or engine.

It doesn't matter how long it is. It only matters if it moves smoothly inside the sheath, and if it has a kink or sharp bend in it. If you fasten it properly to the chassis mounting points, it should work fine. What exactly were you hoping to achieve by by removing it?

As above what was the reason for removing it?  If it came out of the car it is the correct length.  Perhaps it seems too long because you are not routing it the same way that it was originally installed.  Try again hook it up and see if it works ok.
