Was candidate Obama's father 7/8's Arab and 1/8 black.;

I have been informed that the birth certificate of Barack Hussein Obama Sr lists him as being 7/8 Arab and 1/8 Black.

I would appreciate any information relevant to this.

The question addressed Obama's father, Obama Sr.

Obama Jr's mother was white.(50%)

Obama Jr's father (the other 50%)was 7/8's Arab and 1/8 Negro

Result: the candidate is 50% white, 44% Arab and 6% Negro (All of which would be irrelevant if he were not running as a black)

Siince posing the question I googled the subject and refer you to

http://kennethelamb.blogspot.com/2008/02/barak-obama-questions-about-ethnic.html

and to http://thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=1916.

As to the last site, please note that Obama's ancestors were enslavers not slaves.

Thanks for taking the time to ask the question.

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Where did you study math? From the pictures I have seen of his mother, she was white. Where does that fit in to your equation?

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Curious,

Did the person telling you this information have the birth certificate? I would be curious to see it, because all of the birth certificates I've seen, does not break the heritage of the person down into such minute details such as percentages. They usually say Black, White Hispanic ect...

I have seen a picture of Obama's father and believe me when I tell you that he is black. If there is any arab in him, it must be in his little toe.

CNN did a special on Obama last week and they indicated that his father was african from Kenya. They never mentioned arabia. They also showed the village that Obama's father came from. The other night they interviewed his half brother over in Kenya and he is as black as Obama's father was. If you saw the picture, you would know that you don't get any blacker than that. I know because I am an african american myself. I know black when I see it.Laughing

Curious,

The devil is a liar! These articles are lies from the pits of hell! It is amazing the length some folks will go through just to keep a black man from being elected. I have never seen them do any other candidate like this in the history of the elections.

That just goes to show you that some americans will never be able to accept the black man, no matter what he does for his country.

We need to stop this foolishness. I thought america had come further than this. I guess, I was wrong. It is clear to see, that the author of that article is a bigot. If we let ourselves get caught up in that mess, we are no better than he is. May God have mercy on our souls.

I can tell you as a black american, I have come through a lot and endured a lot in my lifetime. This only brings back sad memories. I have voted in countless elections for whites and I didn't say, I am not going to vote for this candidate because he is white, or any other color. If the truth be told, we are all mixed with something. Heck, as far as we know, you and I could be 7/8 arab.

America lets stop being so prejudice and try to love our fellowman! We are all God's children (red, yellow, black, white)!

Be Blessed.

I refer you to the following three Internet articles.

http://kennethelamb.blogspot.com/2008/02/barak-obama-questions-about-ethnic.html

http://thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=1916

http://caosblog.com/7961

I particularly direct your attention to the portion which reads:

"Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.).

That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side.

Put another way, his father could honestly claim African-American ethnic classification. He was the last generation able to do so.

Sen. Obama could honestly say, "My father was African-American." Racist presumptions led an Ivy League admissions committee, and lazy "newspapers of record" factcheckers, to presume that if his father is African-American, then Sen. Obama must be African-American also.

But it doesn't work that way. Racist presumptions coupled with sloppy vetting don't turn a lie into the truth.

Sen. Obama is one generation too far removed from the ethnic African Negro input to make the same claim as his father, Harvard's Admission's stamp of approval notwithstanding.

As you can see for yourself, Sen. Obama's African-American ethnic claim, when properly researched and documented, is a lie.

The question no one wants to answer - particularly Mr. Obama and his supporters, is, "Why do you think he has an Arabic name? Why does his father have an Arabic name? Why does every ancestor on his father's side have an Arabic name?"

The answer is obvious: They have Arabic names because his father's side of the family tree is Arabic.

Need proof? Research the Kenyan records for yourself. You will find that his father was officially classified as "Arab African" by the Kenyan government."
[Emphasis added by me, Curious]

You will also note that the writer of the first and second article go further to assert that research into the ancestors of the candidate’s natural father show that they were slavers, i.e., they captured negroes (see the first article which says that Negroes is a scientific term for that ethnicity) and sold them as slaves to others – about 10.5 million were sold to Caribbean plantations and 500,000 were sold to American plantations before importation of slaves into the U.S. became illegal in 1803.

I am repulsed by slavery, and all of its aspects. I pray that people who enslave other persons get the hottest and most painful part of Hell (Obama’s ancestors included).

Color does not matter to me and does not affect my vote either way. But, Obama is running to be the first black president and that puts it into issue.

When he stops running as a "Black" (which he should) – all of this stuff becomes irrelevant (which it should).

Thank you for your inquiry.

The information I read was:

2." Barack Hussein OBAMA Sr. was born in 1936 in Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya and died in a car crash in Nairobi, Kenya in 1982, leaving three wives, six sons and a daughter. All but one of his children live in Britain or the United States. One of the brothers died in 1984. He is buried in the village of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya.3. "

That does not mean that he is not 7/8's Arab and 1/8 Black.

Dear Be Blessed:

You said it exactly right when you said: "America lets stop being so prejudice and try to love our fellowman! We are all God's children (red, yellow, black, white)!"

I am named in part after my great grand father who was named after General Ulyses Grant. Four of my white friends and I sat in the back seat of a bus in Norfolk in the summer of 1951 four years before Rosa Parks. (We did not do it to "make a statement". We did it because that is where we wanted to sit -- just like every body should be allowed to sit where they want to sit.)

I personally feel that Dr King was one of the greatest Americans that ever lived.

Obama's color does affect my decision to vote against him. (In fact I am looking forward to America electing a president who is the best person available, with no regard to religion or ethnicity -- black, white, yellow or native american.)

I personally do not trust the media of this country.

May I refer you to the following three Internet articles.

Curious,

Thank you for your candid and honest reply. I guess being an african american myself, I know the hardships that we went through and in some instances still encounter to be accepted.

Barck Obama had no control over who his parents were, just as you and I didn't. This was a child that went through rejection by his father and had to be raised by his single mother. I think his mother and grandparents did an excellent job raising this young man. As far as his father being mixed with Arab or whatever else genes he may have had, does not reflect on whether Barack will make a good president or not. This young man had to struggle with his identity to fit into a world that did not accept him as white or black.

I don't look at a persons skin color but like Dr. Martin Luther King says, I look at the content of their character. Your vote may be affected by his ethnicity but he has my vote. I don't care about the Arab genes because it is evident that the African American gene was the dominant gene. As far as I am concerned, he is black. Just about every american in this country is mixed with some other gene that makes them part of something (Irish, German, Polish, ect...). Heck, there are a lot of whites that are part black and don't know it. Interracial sex didn't just start yesterday. It's been around since slavery; Whites sleeping with blacks and blacks sleeping with whites. If we start pointing fingers, we may as well look in the mirror and point a finger at ourselves.

I refuse to blame a man (a child then) for something that occurred when he was not even a thought in his parents mind. May God help us all when we start condemning people for their parents sins or mistakes. Personally I don't see anything wrong with it if he was part Arab. He is still God's child, and deserves the right to live, just like the rest of us. Barack is a U.S. citizen and has rights and priviledges the same as any other american.

If you feel the way that you do, I urge you not to vote for him, because I'm sure if he knew how you felt, he would probably turn it down anyway. He has my vote, because I think that he is the best candidate for the job, whether black or Arab.

Be Blessed.

Dear Be Blessed:

I appreciate your reply.

I read your reply -- mentally agreeing with every word --until I reached the last paragraph. Then, you added the following:

"If you feel the way that you do, I urge you not to vote for him, because I'm sure if he knew how you felt, he would probably turn it down anyway."

I am concerned about my ability to communicate as I sense you are an intelligent, thinking man.

I do not complain about Obama’s skin color, parents, ancestors. These things have absolutely no effect on my decision not to vote for him.

Once again --I object to Obama running as a black when he is only 6% black. (It is particularly offensive when his ancestors participated in enslaving black people and selling them to others. Frankly, it would be even more offensive if I were black.)

However, that is not the reason I am voting against him.

I reject him because of his vision for America of government control and he is a product of the South Chicago fraudulent political machine – letting the likes of Tony Resco to pay a portion of $300,000 of the purchase of his home (and Resco does not give without expecting back).

I also reject Obama because of his close relationship with Reverend Wright, who –upon meeting me -- would look at me a a white man -- and therefore a racist-- whereas I would look at him as a man -- and then would be repelled by his racist views. Racism is bad, and being black is no excuse for being a racist.

When Colin Powell was considering running several years ago, I was preparing to support him.

Enough of this. You  are voting for Obama because you think he is the best man for the job and not because of his ethnic background. I am voting for McCaine because I think he is the best man for the job and not because of Obama’s ethnic background.

We are each "preaching to the choir".

May God Bless you and your family.
