A:Cleaning murphy's oil or white vinegar. (wood floors simple cheap and it works) I'd do some kind of short pile (rug) on the stairs and make it looped and a darker cooler beige or even brown. Even an outdoor carpet style would be great. Just remember if you go white you clean with all your might and the stains still come out with spite.
