Looking to buy a DSLR camera bag

I'm looking to buy a protective bag for my new DSLR camera - a Nikon D80.

I currently have only one lens, but I plan on buying another two (50mm and something other for a zoom - will ask about that later Smile).

I want something that is not too large, can hold the camera, and at least another lens. Any recommendations for such a bag? Are there any specific parameters I should pay attention to when buying such a bag?

If you have many things to carry (e.g. camera body, 1-2 lenses, external flash, extra battery, etc) you might as well get a bag that is bigger than your camera + accessories, but allows you to put some more things in it (such as a wallet, glasses, mp3 player, book, etc). This way you won't have to carry an extra bag.

I personally love slingshot bags (the ones that have only one strap that goes obliquely across your chest) because they enable you to turn the opening to the front and open the bag without having to take it off your shoulder.

Good luck!

Im attending this photography class and my instructor told us to buy a camera bag that does not look like a camera bag. or a camera bag that does not show that expensive brand. If ever., place your camera bag inside another bag. This is beacause, if you have a pricey camera bag., you might as well have a pricey camera and people who have bad intentions may look at you as their next target. Im planning to buy a camera bag but im going to get rid of the label just for safety...
