There is no secret formula, if thats what you're looking for. You will make money when you make the "market" more efficient (i.e. provide a service or product that others will pay for).

Start by figuring out what skills you have in relation to possibilities on the internet, how much capital you have, what other resources you have. From this you should be able to put a picture together of where you should start poking around (ecommerce, web development, innovative new concepts, etc). Do your research, make sure you do not hate what you are getting into, and dive in! You will not reap any rewards without exerting substantial effort.
