The old addage of: "The Boss Is Never Wrong" needs some clarification. The boss may never be wrong, however the boss can use some "education" like "Boss we have been doing this this way for a long time. How about we do it like this? That way we can increase our productivity and quality at the same time."
ALL persons in authority over us need the best support and guidance we can give them. I always did it this way with my bosses. When they ceased to listen my final comment was always "Fine, sure great." After they fell flat on their faces a few time my supervisor took note and the next time I said "Fine , sure, great." He interjected on my behalf to the boss that "Jesse has never given bad advice on this, maybe we should listen to him." The listened and did it the way I provided for them to do it.
ALWAYS when you have a different way of doing things or a different view, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have a WORKABLE solution available for them to evaluate. It might not be the ONLY solution but it should always be WORKABLE.
