May The Horse Be With You !

When I was a child the entire family colored eggs together , it was a party .  We would start out with a large bowl of eggs just waiting to be colored .  My Father could never understand why there were never as many eggs colored as were in the bowl to start with .  See we had two dogs and they had learned to lay under the table and we kids and would feed them the uncolored eggs under the table .  Now that I am older , I figured out that Dad knew all along , he just played along .

Happy Easter To All !

The felt bottom was missing on a table lamb we had, I hid an egg there. I was brilliant. Totally fooled the kids, they never found it. It was such a good hiding place, I forgot it. Needless to say....... what happened here.

Imagine that!

Hi George, thanks for the invite and Happy Easter! Laughing

No colored eggs this year, my grandson is too little.

We are going to hide (in plain sight, he's a toddler) some plastic eggs for him to find. We don't give him candy, but we got other treats to fill the eggs - animal crackers, yogurt covered raisins, etcetera; plus we'll probably leave some of them empty. He won't care, he just enjoys taking the eggs apart and putting them back together...

We also got him a stuffed toy for his Easter basket - a nice, big, floppy doggie; not an Easter stuffie. We looked at rabbits and/or ducks, but none seemed to appeal to him; when we were at the store yesterday I handed him a stuffed dog and he immediately gave it a big hug - so a dog it is. I can't wait to see his little face glow with excitement!

Happy Easter to all, however you plan to enjoy it!

I think the best hiding places are the ones that are so obvious the kids will never think to look in that spot.

Over the years we had some doozies, but I remember three in particular: Inside the medicine cabinet, inside the open bag of dog food and outside - way, way, deep inside the rosebush!

Happy Easter JK

I was so over the top with my hiding places that the kids never new what to expect. They used to ask me for tools to remove heat vent covers. It was so funny. I taped one to the bottom of the coffee table too, but they found that one right away.

Did you ever balance any on the tops of the doors? I used to do that; it's a big PITA to get the door open just right so the egg will balance up there without falling off - but it worked great!

Of course, you can't do it much more than once before the kids start looking up there as a matter of routine - but it was fun anyway!

Another great place was up between the curtain rod and the wall, so it was up out of view and hidden behind the drapes.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

Good Morning George,

I don't have kids that's why I haven't the experience of going to the park

to look for Easter eggs.

According to what I read, the Saxons devoted the month of April to

celebrate the goddess of spring and fertility, her name was Eastre.  Her sacred animal was the rabbit which is the most common symbol of fertility and rebirth.

The colored eggs have been associated with fertility and springtime festivals.

Are you going to an Easter hunt with your grandkids?
