Never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about.

I just had my brakes replaced, but now they squeal. What is wrong?

they make an anti squeel lube that goes on new brake pads that should be put on the new pads, there is more contact and abrasion with the new pads.

And if that's not the case, the warning tab on the pads may be bent or mis installed, the rotors may not have been turned or replaced, or may be glazed, or a foreign object may have gotten in during the service.

to the best of my knowledge this is to be expected with new break pads.

Please tell me you were joking - Lube on breaks???

that defeats the whole purpose of breaks, which is just like you said:

abrasion, friction.

No, jamescornelia was not joking.  There really a product like that.  I have never used it myself.  I kind of agree with you, though, never contaminate the pad surface with any chemical.
