My boyfriend lives in california and wants to move here. How do we start the process and can he come here first for a visit and stay a couple of months?

I'm guessing from the topics that you're living in Canada. If this is the case, I think your boyfriend should visit Canada first. It's important to know what what a person is getting into before making the big move. Suggest he read (and you might want to too) How to Move to Canada: A Primer for Americans by Terese Loeb Kreuzer and Carol Bennett. He can probably borrow it from the library or get it online for less than $10.
