Just bought a Q, now I want an iPhone

I've been following the recent iPhone announcements on CNET and on TechCrunch with awe.. and frustration. I got my Q only 3 weeks ago. What would you do – would you switch from the Q to the iPhone (when it's finally out), or wait a bit longer?

Well, it really depends on your budget :) Obviously, the iPhone is much more attractive then the Q. Glad they found a way to avoid that annoying stylus!

Me, being somewhat addicted to gadgets, what I do is sell these things on eBay when I want to move on. So I reduce my costs moving forward to the next cool gadget.

There are some questions you should consider which might help you get over your buyers remorse.

  1. Apple has a multi year exclusive (at least 2 years) deal with Cingular, is switching to Cingular an option for you?
  2. Are you comfortable with sending your personal information over public WiFi access points (assuming the iPhone supports public WiFi)?
  3. Do you use the internet on your Q outside of your home? Would you be willing to take a step backwards in technology and use the slower 2.5G EDGE technology?
  4. Do you currently own an ipod? Do you need another one?
  5. Have you ever lost or broke a phone? Would you be upset if you lost a $500/$600 dollar phone that you take everywhere?
  6. Will you be upset if Apple launches an even better product for less money a few months after you convince yourself to buy one? (personal reference from my iPod nano experience)

enjoy your Q.
