When I was born the matron show my relatives my "wizard" through the nursery window. What and Why?

When I was born the doctor and nurse told my visitors in the lobby that I was a healthy baby boy, they saw me afterwards. Later that day in the late afternoon after everyone had left the hospital a few of my relatives came in late and saw me for the first time in through the nursery window. The matron came over to the window and showed them my "wizard". What does that mean and why?

By "Wizard" you mean penis? If so perhaps they were just showing you off without anything too serious behind it.

Perhaps they showed your genitals, which some use the slang term "whizzer", and through the retelling, the words got mixed up a bit.
