I would like to find a plug in for safari or firefox, or a web 2.0 app, that allows me to have several bookmarks (graphically)on a single web  page that I would like to then use as my browser homepage,

Can anyone help?

Opera has this very feature - they call it

Speed Dial. It was added to version 9.20 very recently, I think it's also available for mac.
