If you are out on a bond and miss a court date then the court has a BOND FORFEITURE HEARING. That is when the judge determines if the defendant had good cause for missing court.
The Bail Bond Company must surrender the defendant back into custody prior to the hearing in order to prevent the bond being forfeited.
