What is a bond forfeiture hearing?
It is a hearing in which usully the lawers are in front of a judge in which a person who was in jail had left the area and will not appear for his/her hearing there fore the person who put up the monies is out that amount.

If you are out on a bond and miss a court date then the court has a BOND FORFEITURE HEARING. That is when the judge determines if the defendant had good cause for missing court. The Bail Bond Company must surrender the defendant back into custody prior to the hearing in order to prevent the bond being forfeited.
