Can I boil Turkey Breast

I usually boil turkey wings for 45 mins. before I place in oven to BBQ them.

Can I also do the same with a large turkey breast?  Please reply. Thanks

When you boil meat in water, most of the flavor goes into the water. This is great for making soup. If you want to grill it and you want it to be flavorful then you need to broil, or fry or microwave for a while, not boil.

Thank you. I did boil the large turkey breast for about 1/2 before baking.  It turned out so very, very good and the meat was cooked throughout.  With all the garlic, spices, brown sugar, etc it was very juicy.  The meat was not over cooked either.

Thanks for your advice.

Glad to hear of your success! We also enjoy turkey. I think too many people use it only at Thanksgiving. We use it much more often. It is Yummy!

I would slow boil or simmer the breast so it doesn't get stringy.  It should work fine.  Just don't over boil it or it will fall apart.

Thank you for your reply.  I boiled it for about 1/2 hour - 45 mins.  Thank I placed it in the oven for approx. 1 1/2 hour at 350 with plenty (I mean plenty) of spices, garlic, brown sugar and poured some honey on top.  OMG ...it was so very, very good and the turkey was cooked to perfection.
