How can i start a very interesting topic in my ...

how can i start a very interesting topic in my group or blog, i wanted to make one for my friends so that we would still be updated even though were not seeing each other that often. at least with blogs, we can share interests...but i dont know how to start...somebody help me! i want to make it interesting, something that could catch there attention and would make them join...thanks!

I'd suggest looking into accounts at www.wordpress.com

 It's a free blogging platform that allows you to have multiple people post to one account

I'm not really sure what you are looking for, if you are seeking a quick and cheapsolution your best bet is to use an open source blogging platform like blogger.com or similar - there are many out there to choose from, but beware, if you begin to blog and like it you'll soon find these free platforms very limited. 

Robblatt suggested wordpress - I use wordpress, it's great, they also offer free blogs.

Blogging is a bit like learning to ride a bike - you start and learn fall after fall ....

 (and today was a day just like any other)

well if the goal of it is just to keep up, look at a group (either google groups or yahoo groups)

if you are looking at a starting a blog i'd suggest wordpress - of course there is always the option of other blogs -- blogger, etc but wordpress is pretty well liked by everyone i know that uses it

You can either go with a personal blog about your life or review your list of interests that other people might find worth reading

Try Googling "blog memes," which are starter topics for bloggers. You should be able to find some out there that will give you ideas. Also, www.ourstory.com is a free site where you blog your life story, and it sends you writing prompts often to give you things to write about : ) You can add others to it, and they can write on there or just read it. Also, what are some of your favorite interests you naturally have a lot to say about. Or just try some freewriting about anything and eventually other topics will come to mind as your brain gets into its creative flow. If you are just doing this to stay in touch with others through your blog, you will find that what doesn't seem like the best topic to you will still be interesting to them by virtue of them having a different viewpoint and an interest in you as a valued friend.
