Best practices for moving blog to a new address?

I am moving my blog from blogger (ughh) to a new domain running WordPress.

Any pointers to best practices?

Is there any way to preserve my Technorati ranking when moving to the new address?

What is best way to redirect existing readers from the old address to the new one?

Help please :)

I'm not sure if it's possible to preserve your Technorati ranking - they do have a mini-guide on the topic of moving a blog to a new URL, but it doesn't address the ranking issue:

As for redirecting from the old address to the new one, you will find a pretty comprehensive (though somewhat technical) guide on TechCounter:

I don't think it is possible to keep the ranking, because technorati rank you based on the back links you get and you are moving to a different domain, so it is not possible.

Other than that you don't need to worry about converting the blog, as wordpress will handle it.
