How do I use a blog to help sell products online?

Other than putting links from a blog to a website, are there any other ways to use a blog to drive traffic in order to sell products online? Are there any simple (non-techy) blog platforms with ecommerce capability?

Blogs are great ways to introduce people to your products and your industry.  I wouldn't suggest directly plugging your products in your blog, but share information that you have found about the industry where you are selling.  Blogs are also great for increasing your visibility within the industry and will even increase your page rank if you get popular enough.  Good luck!

No. 8 Alabama Cruises Past No. 3 Georgia,...

Associated Press ATHENS, Ga. -- The Alabama Crimson Tide turned the blackout into a knockout. Just don't tell Nick Saban that he's got a national championship contender, not even after a decisive victory over third-ranked Georgia. "After five games?" Saban said with a tone of disbelief late Saturday night. "Let's see when we get a full body of work at the end of the season." But No. 8 Alabama sure looked as impressive as anyone in this young season by whipping Georgia 41-30, the score not really as close as the final. The Tide raced to a stunning 31-0 lead over the first two quarters, and the Bulldogs managed a couple of cosmetic touchdowns in the waning minutes. Backed by stout play on both sides of the line and John Parker Wilson's accurate passing, Alabama (5-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) put this one away before Georgia's "Redcoat Marching Band" got on the field for the halftime show. The Tide scored on its first five possessions. "That was nice," said Wilson, who was 13-of-16 for 205 yards and a touchdown. "That is what you practice for, that is what you strive to do on every drive." - NCAA Football - Alabama Crimson Tide - John Parker Wilson - Nick Saban - Julio Jones - Mark Ingram

Michigan Shocks No. 9 Wisconsin, 27-25

Associated Press ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Rich Rodriguez earned the right to be hailed at Michigan for the first time. Rodriguez, in his fourth game as coach, directed the Wolverines' biggest comeback in Big House history, helping them rally from a 19-point deficit to beat No. 9 Wisconsin 27-25 Saturday. Hail To The Victors Saturday was Michigan's 500th game in the Big House, and its 27-25 victory was its largest comeback in the stadium's history. (The 21-point comeback vs. Minnesota was on the road, the two 17-point comebacks at home). The first significant victory of his debut season in Ann Arbor wasn't sealed until Allen Evridge misfired on a 2-point conversion with 13 seconds left. "Never had a doubt," Rodriguez joked. It didn't seem like the Wolverines were going to have a chance to celebrate their 500th game at Michigan Stadium when they had five turnovers, trailed 19-0 and were booed off the field at halftime. "If you were anywhere in the Ann Arbor vicinity, you heard that," Rodriguez said. - NCAA Football - Michigan Wolverines - Rich Rodriguez - Steven Threet

No. 12 Penn State Rolls Over No. 22...

Associated Press STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Derrick Williams came to Penn State in 2005 as one of the most hyped recruits Joe Paterno had ever lured to Happy Valley. For the past three years, Williams hasn't quite lived up to his advance billing. On Saturday night against No. 22 Illinois, the speedy senior put on a show like no Nittany Lion has ever done during Paterno's 43-year tenure. Williams caught a touchdown pass, ran for a TD and returned a kick 94 yards for another score as the 12th-ranked Nittany Lions (5-0, 1-0) stayed unbeaten with a 38-24 win. It was the first time that trifecta had been accomplished by a Penn State player under Paterno. "This is the first time he's really had a chance to break out," Paterno said. "Derrick's been in tough games and made big plays ... He's a heck of an athlete." - NCAA Football - Penn State Nittany Lions - Derrick Williams - Anthony Scirrotto - Joe Paterno - Daryll Clark
