Put yourself in your bf's shoes. He would certainly feel a lot better to be seen with a goodlooking date since his choice of date is a reflection of himself. However, if he has sufficient self-confidence he would not mind since he selected his date because of her character and personality.

Yes, I think that both girls and guys are interested in dating people who care for themselves.  How can you care for someone else if you don't know how to care for yourself.  This doesn't mean that no one would like you if you were a little overweight.  But, I do think that being healthy and fit is a quality that many look for when they are dating.  However, I do have to say that personality and the way you act goes a lot farther than the way you look.  Just, do the best you can.

As an overweight girl, yes. Many men want a girl with a nice figure.

However, a man who can see past the pounds may find himself with a girl who is beautiful in many other ways.

I suspect that if you'd ask my husband, he'd tell you that my weight isn't my best feature, but he'd have a hard time finding a woman who would be as good for him.
