There is a very fine line between the two that is difficult to define. Emotional eating is usually caused by emotional upsets where you then turn to food for consolation.

In binge eating, you are usually depriving yourself from food, have a weak moment and go crazy and eat everything you see. Binge eating is usually associated more with anorexia and bulimia.

Both of these eating disorders are easily conquered through a simple course from Dr Frank called Weight Loss God's Way which is the only course I am aware of that successfully treats these disorders.
