I fight with the same problem almost daily. The trick is to realize that your internal clock tells you when it is time for bed and not really when you decide to go to bed.
The first question I have for you is when you are playing games or watching TV, do you trouble staying awake? Do you feel tired and sleepy and need tooth pics to keep your eyes open to watch to the end of that movie? If the answer is yes than most likely your internal clock is OK and is doing it's job of shutting your body down and going to sleep. Stop fighting it!
If the answer is no then your internal clock is off like mine is. If you don't feel sleepy around 10 but finally get the urge to go to bed around 11 to 1 am but you need to get up at 6 or 7am. Another way to know if your internal clock is off is to take notice of how you feel in the mornings. Do you require an alarm clock to wake up? When you do wake up do you feel awake, refreshed and energetic? Or do you feel like you just got hit by a truck?
So what are we suffering from?
