A penny saved  is a penny earned

hi dblady

our pets are like our children,  " they pout "  your cat will get use to the enviroment soon , just like when you move a child to a new house.  they get stubborn and just pout.  it might take 3 months but just keep doing what your doing.  is it the old cat bed that the cat use to have that it has now?   that makes a difference.  they dont like new.   put something in it if it is new that you have worn.  you are their comfort.

hope you are enjoying your new place.  if your baby don't come around soon , might be best to have it checked out by a vet.  it's just a strange place and to me a animal is no different than us.  it takes time to get use to a new place.  is your cat a indoor cat.  mine is and still every now after 2 years  and then meows wanting to go outside, knowing he cant when i let my little dog out.Undecided  i jokeingly tell him go on while i sit outside the door in my rocking chair.  he just stands and look's at me  lolLaughing

take care and God bless

Your direction, not your intention, determines your destination

Keep giving it lots of attention and don't spoil too much. If it purrs as it goes around your legs when you are trying to get somewhere in a hurry, that's the sure sign it is happy and content. Contented cats always hum or purr alot when they are satisfied with the way things are going.Keep up the good work.

We have always found this very helpful with our cats. We would put butter on their paws and keep them inside or around in the yard for about a week. This would pick up scents and they always knew how to return home if they wondered off

I assume the cat has been neutered? We took on a Burmese from a Rescue Home after ours died at the age of 15years. There was a problem with keeping the kitten in the garden, with boards, wire round trees etc! However it did get out from time to time, but eventually knew its way back. What I did (and with the other one) was fit a cat flap so once in at night, it was locked in till morning. No problems so long as you have a litter tray. Sadly, whilst I was at work, this one was hit by a car, when crossing the road, and died at only three years old. THAT is the downturn having a cat. We now have two rescue dogs: much easier.

She loves the cats and the cats love her

I'm not sure what you mean by "re-home".  Did you and the cat move to a new location OR did you adopt the cat and its in a new home?  I get the sense you just acquired the cat.  If that's the case, you might keep her in her own room temporarily.  This will increase her security level.  At some point, after a week or so, leave the door open so she can explore on her own terms.  Don't force her to be what she doesn't want to be right now.  Talk to her, pet her if she lets you.  Give her time to adjust to new surroundings.  IF you and the cat moved, together, to a new home then you still might keep her in her own room and allow her to explore as she wants.  If she's not new to you as her human, then it really shouldn't be too hard of a transition for her.  BUT, cats do not like change and be a bit neurotic when asked to do so.

space, cats need space to adjust to their new surroundings. allow the cat to come to you,it may take awhile, don't be offended or worried (as long as you know it's in good health) cats are independent and prefer to do things in their own time and space.the cat will find it's food (assuming you keep quality dry out always, and you should) the box...show him where it is , he'll find it again, unless he's REALLY MAD at you. ie: box full or new cat in house . anyway bottom line is time and space.
