Is it bad to mix different types of alcohol ?

Sometimes I meet a bartender who tells me that mixing different types of alcohol is not good for my hangover. Usually I do not listen, but last night I was really drunk and made a bet with some beautiful bartender. She said I will wake up a mess if I mix and I said I won't, well I didn't and now I am looking for a proof, got any ?

Probably. Alcohol in and of itself is an irritant to your stomach and your system. Different types of alcohol contain congeners, toxins that are by-products of the distillation and manufacturing process. Mixing different types of alcohol is more likely to expose you to different congeners, which can increase the chances of becoming sick. If you are going to drink, it's better to give your system a fighting chance by only requiring it to cope with one type of irritant.

No! It's the volume of alcohol that counts.

I am going to have to say yes.  It is not the same for every person BUT if I mix alcohols I will get sick!  I can only drink one kind of liquor a night!

yes and no at the same time. different people react differently to alcohol, so u might be fine with one thing, but i could be puking instead. no, because quantity sometimes counts more than what kind. puking is sometimes induce because ur body is telling u, that u have had enough.

hangover is cause by long period of dehydration while u sleep, so that could be less affected by mixing. instead, if u are not blindly drunk, when u get home just drinking plenty of water before u go to sleep and the next morning shouldnt be so bad.
