If an adult still have baby teeth, will they eventually decay and fall out or is it safe to leave them in?
This tooth has probably not been lost because the permanent tooth is impacted on its side on the palate. The baby tooth probably is fused to the surrounding bone at this point. There are several options - you can have the baby tooth extracted and a bridge placed to replace it. The other option is to extract the baby tooth and pull the impacted tooth into the space orthodontically. These options have to be discussed with your dentist after the proper exam and x-rays have been taken. Good luck!
Thankyou for your response. I have recently been to my orthadontist and we have decided my best option is too pull the impacted tooth down over a period of time by using orthadontic braces. My worry is that the baby tooth will decay and fall out eventually, so it is best for me too get something productive done about it.
Its never too late to ask.
