My 3.2 year old has some cavities. He did horrible at this visit. They couldn't even clean them. I helped hold him down to show me how to properly brush and floss, as well as looking at his teeth. They said they will have to "papoose" him for the fillings. She doesn't do gas, etc. Is the trauma of the strapping down worth the fillings for a barely three year old?

this sounds bad. I would suggest trying to find another alternative. Perhaps some sort of anisthetic. I can see how such an experience could be traumatic for a child.
