Since my son started going to the dentist they have been telling me his teeth are over crowded and he will need braces when he gets older. Recently I noticed his permanent front tooth is on top of the baby tooth next to it. I took him to the dentist and they felt the baby teeth needed to be pulled. They then referred me to an orthodontist. The orthodontist after taking x-rays said to remove his k-9's because his permanent teeth have no room to grow in. I did not think anything of it until I started reading on this website that the baby teeth guide the permanent ones in place. He is only seven years old and he has his two front permanent teeth but the ones right next to them and the k-9's have been taken out. I was told his permanent teeth would come in much quicker because there was nothing there. I am afraid he wont have his k-9's until he is eleven. I dont want his other teeth to try to fill the hole either. If I would have known this I would have held off. I think I made a huge mistake. Is there anymore insight on this I can have?
