When does a baby start kicking?

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I still haven't felt the baby kick. Is there something wrong? When should I start feeling it?

Fertility Stories - infertility experiences of people like you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy :-)

Usually in your first pregnancy you start feeling the baby kick around the 20th week. Sometimes before that, you will feel gently movements that you're not quite sure about... In subsequent pregnancies, you might feel the baby sooner - around 18 weeks.

It would be rare to feel anything so early :-), so you don't need to worry.

Take care,
Rachel

Smile hello my name is Shanna and i hope to have an answer to calm your concern. i have read that some babys do not kick until you are well into your fith month 17 to 22 weeks into the pregnancy, and sometimes eventhough you can't relly fill a big movement you have probley already felt your little one. sometimes a small flutte or a bubbly feeling in your abdomin might just be thier little feet moving.

i am not far enouh along in this pregnacy but i have had it to were i was almost 19 weeks before i felt my little guy begin to kick, keep up with your oppointments and as long as the dr. see's no need to worry, i just bet your little person is laid back enjoying his / her new mom, good luck to you darling and feel free to write back.
