My question is about Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE ...

My question is about Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus. I would like to replace an installed existing anti-virus program on my computer with Avira Antivir Personal. Will closing down the existing antivirus program be sufficient or is it necessary to un-install the program before downloading Avira Antivir Personal?

Definitely uninstall your old Antivirus before installing another one. This will prevent future problems that may occur, like startup problems or file sharing issues. Avira is a good antivirus, Great choice.
