Ford 2 barrel vs 4 barrel carburator

Hi, i have a 1968 ford f250 ford pickup truck with a 360 c.I. Engine and a 4 barrel carb. It gets very very bad milage. Considering putting a 2 barrel on it.  Is there a big difference in power or towing ability between the 2 and 4 barrel carbs? What is the real difference between the two? Thanks  ron

the 4bbl will always make more h.p.than the 2 bbl if both are properly tuned. make sure the 4bbl has vacumn secondarys so you are driving on just the primarys when crusing and both primarys & secondarys when you need the extra h.p. to go up hills etc. remember more h.p. more gas try changing your driving habits it may help the mileage, put on a cold intake air system it will help both h.p. & mileage.this will only get you a few miles per gallon more but is worth it in the long run.
