the one click you hear is the stater solenoid engaging. from there either the solenoid is bad, the cable from the solenoid to the battery is bad or loose, the starter is defective. most Ford solenoids are located on the driver's side front fender well. You can use a single jumper cable to connect between both of the cable connections on the solenoid. if the starter spins then the solenoid is bad. otherwise the cable to the starter or the starter is bad. the solenoid takes a beating and probably is the cause.
