I have an attorney friend at work that agreed to file my divorce for me as a favor. I ended up not going through with the divorce at that time, as I was pregnant and decided to give my husband another chance. After the baby, my husband reverted back to  his old ways, and I ended up in an affair with my friend from work. The problem is, he also has a girlfriend. I am now divorced, and this affair has been going on for a little over two years now. I told someone at work, and another co-worker overheard me, and it got back to his girlfriend. Now, in order to keep her, he proposed to her, and of course I am devasted. I finally came clean about my feelings for him, as I hadn't acted like I wanted anything more than our friendship and sex. So, now it's all out in the open. I want him to leave her, and he said he is considering it, and is very confused, he doesn't know whether to leave or stay. He did say if it wasn't for meeting me, he would marry her. He is also saying he doesn't know if he can trust me because I told someone at work. He has been lying to his now fiancee for over half of their entire relationship, and I am willing to look past that. I feel like such a fool for waiting, but I honest believe that we compliment each other and could have a great relationship. I am really hurting over this and need some advice on what to do.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi Marry,

I hope you are an open person that is ready to get an advise even if it's a bit hard to digest.   The "lesson" from your devorce should be: "Not very often people change" (as your ex-husband returned to his old habbits).  If you apply that rule to your new boyfried it means that he will most probablly be unfaithfull to you too.  I truely understand you: You love him and you are sure you (both) might built wonderfull relations BUT that's in theory:  In practise it wouldn't (most probablly) work.  I am not sure he is a matured person as well.  I am also not sure that he will / wants to break his relations with that other girl.  Better go out of this realtion, let him stay with his girlfriend.  Find yourself a man that will: love you (and you him), only you, be able to build good partnership / friednship with you, will be a good father to your baby, and be faithfull 2u.
I wish you the best of luck,

I think he shoud break off his engagement to his girlfriend and be with you, the two of you deserve each other and his girlfriend deserves better, second, he don't love you because if he did he wouldn't have propose to his girlfreind to keep her.

If he loved /cared for you he would not have gotten engaged to his girlfriend .   He like your x-husband is not the type of man you want and need for you or your baby .  He stepped over the line , used what he had learned about you through helping with the divorce proceedings to his advantage , to get you in bed with him .  Not a real up standing guy not to mention broke many ethics codes for an attorney .  Find it odd he says he does not know if he can trust you , when he is lying to the woman he is engaged to , double standard , this guy wants his cake and eat it to .  Get away from him , and hopefully his girlfriend will wake up and do the same .   This is a dog in a lawyer's suite .
