14 thumbs up

from what I can see here, in USA, focus shifted from east european region to pacific war operations. major events of the war is considered to be 1944 invation to France and later events. Do you remember that documentary about german agression  to russia was named "unknown war" in USA ?

From the other hand, in USSR military operations in south france and pacific was also forgotten. It is political issue, which was emerged during the Cold War.

But WWII veterans is very respectful in USA, and russian veterans are accepted to veteran organizations. there are organizations for veterans and children of veterans, etc.
