I have been on the diet for 4 weeks and lost during week 1 & 2. Stayed on induction all 4 weeks. Never lost an ounce in week 3 & 4, but Ketosis is still showing a deep purple each day. What am I doing wrong?

Hello

Ketosis is a condition associated with chronic starvation. When you go on an extreme diet the body loses weight at first, but eventually the body goes into "starvation mode". It is a survival mechanism. The body thinks that there is a famine and it is starving. Your metabolism slows down, and you burn less calories throughout the day. If we diet without exercise, we do lose fat, but we also lose a lot of muscle, which is not good. So, the smart thing to do is to follow a healthy, sensible diet that is low in high-calorie foods and to engage in vigorous cardio exercise, such as running, several times per week. Expect to lose about 1 - 2 pounds of fat/week.

 

I'm a fan of Atkins, but you initially lose a lot of water weight when you cut out the carbs. After the water is gone, you have to cut back on calories more to drop the fat, which can be a bit more challenging.

I am not a fan of the Atkins Diet but so be it.  If you are a woman you will only lose weight 2 out of the 4 weeks in any month.  That is due to being a woman.  Men lose weight a lot faster than woman.  They can lose twenty pounds in a month where a woman will only lose on average about 8-10 pounds in a month.  The first week of a diet the most weight is lost because most of the weight is water weight.  After ten days of a diet that is when fat actually begins to shed off.  Give yourself time.  There are also peaks in diets.  There will be periods of time you won't lose any weight at all but don't let it discourage you.  That is a dangerous time because that is when people blow the diet thinking it is not working.  It is working.  Hang in there and keep on keeping on and you will get results.  If the Atkins diet fails you I suggest you go on a healthier diet than Atkin's.

 

Drink LOTS of water. At least 3 liters a day.Read (really READ) the book Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, Revised Edition cover to cover at least twice. Good luck!

Try to detoxify your body, I assure you will lose weight, and never gain it back again!!  Visit this Site, and make your own judgment. You will be glad you did.

I lost 16 pounds, and I never gain them back!!, If you clean your digestive track, any diet will be easier to follow, and you will continue to lose weight.  It does make sense, doesn't it?  Good luck with your diet!
