Can i ask her out again later

Okay so she lives next door, we are in highschool (shes a year younger) I LOVE HER
a couple weeks ago we were holding hands in the pool and stuff and i was like *cool She is the nicest girl i know
I DONT JUST LIKE HER FOR HER BODY OR LOOKS
she has a great personality


I asked her out... she said "Sorry but, i dont like you"
I WAS LIKE WTF
but i still love her should i befriend her more and try again
WE ARE STILL GREAT FRIENDS
If i can ask her out again in how long
GIVE ME SOME GUIDELINES
i KNOW she would like who i really am, but i find it hard to be myself arround girls (not just her)
HELP ME 

 

oh yeah and I HATE MYSELF for doing it on text she was out of town (i asked her out on a txt message)
but she has done it before with other guys (asking out on text)
idk help me

 

Well heres the thhing she said" oh yeah and about that night at the pool ...

My friend had just done something bad to me the day before"

is that an excuse or what

Thats all she said at that point

Be her friend and wait until you both get comfortable with each other especially you around her and when you are being able to be yourself and you see her enjoying your company as well try again as a friendly date. Right now do not pursue anything and act like you are accepting of her honesty thow it hurt do not let her see that too much. Pursuing now will only turn her off. Try finding some interest in other girls in the meantime this might light a fire in her. Challenge is always good! Good luck!

OMG of course you can ask her out again! Just wait and give it a little bit of time. It sounds like she just didnt know how to react...let both of yall get more comfortable first.

Live simply, love generously and  care deeply.

 

Just like everyone said, ask her out again, but this time, don't look overly eager.  be patient.  You don't want to give her the impression that you are desperate.  Play it cool.  Just be nice to her, be patient and she'll come around.
