Do most asians in the USA..?

Present study examines the relationship between household level characteristics and the household income for immigrants of Asian origin belonging to the six major (Asian) countries, namely China, India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Vietnam. Past evidence in the case of immigrant households of Hispanic origin has shown that immigrant households tend to be larger, have multiple earners, indulge in more resource sharing – both physical and financial. This has been particularly documented in case of research in the United States on immigrant households that are Hispanic in origin. There is no similar study for the people of Asian descent living in the United States. The growing numbers of foreign born Asians in conjunction with a) the reports that many of them are entering based on the family reunification criteria and b) their relatively high average levels of human capital, calls for such an investigation for Asians as well. This study brings to fore the strategies that Asian immigrant households indulge in to maximize their incomes such as living in larger households with extended kin and non relatives, pooling in labor market hours and income and more so among groups which do not enjoy a high socioeconomic status implying economic compulsions rather than cultural reasons for choosing a specific type of living arrangement.

Hi,

     I am an Asian and I lved here in the States since 1980.  I observed that 98 percent of Asians are very hardworking, with 2  jobs mostly ,therefore they show more signs of prosperity.  Most people from Asian countries are highly educated.  They migrate to the U.S. for more chances of professional and financial advancement.  Most of them are lawyers, doctors, Registered Nurses, physical and Occupational Therapists, Engineers, and Scientists.

    The Asian population are the group of foreigners who have more personal pride and don't rely on the government for free dole-outs.  they come here to work and be successful in their chosen careers.

Every race has different classes.

The Asians that I have encountered in the USA have done well.  My twenty year experience in the Navy and even here in Charleston West Virginia they generally do very well.  There is no bias against them as there is with blacks and hispanics here in the USA.  Most seem to be highly intelligent and willing to work to get what they want.  No stereotype implied.  There are losers among all peoples.
