Does anyone know how to remove price tags and the gummy residue they have once you pull them off, from plastic boxes. This residue that can't come off really distracts from the item, especially when it's a gift. Someone told me to try Zippo lighter flid but I don't know about that one.

Soak the bottles in very hot water with liquid fabric softener or dish soap. After soaking for a few minutes take it out of the water and test it to see if it’s ready to be removed. If left in long enough it may simply fall off. Remove any additional residue with the scrubber side of a dish sponge.

There is a commercial product Goo Be Gone. You can also use A1 oil, but make sure that the surface is not porous and that you completely wipe off quickly.

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

The correct name is Goo Gone, unless there is another one. Oops is another product that will remove this stuff. I wonder where Yedda got the name for their page? If your plastic item will not ge harmed by these, it will be a very short and sweet process to remove the stickies.

Rubbing alcohol is supposed to work and you can also coat them with vegetable oil, allow that to sit, wash off the resulting mess and then scrub the containers with baking soda to remove the oil.

It's a big pain in the behind, though. I'd stick with the Goo Gone.

I agree with the above answer of Goo Be Gone. I have used this many times, and it works really well for me.

I have also tried using peanut butter, it works somewhat because of the peanut oil, but I wouldn't recommend this one because everything ends up smelling like peanut butter...even yourself.Tongue out

Use "Goo Gone"  found in cleaning, automotive or hardware section.

Sorry. I was thinking of Goof Off.

And here is a picture of Oops.

I think I have used Goo Gone in the distant past. I have used both of the pictured items and I am happy to vouch for both of them.
