I am suffering from INSOMANIA, can't get sleep at night nor in the noon time. I have no tentions, no worries of any kind. I am 62 years old, eat health food, walk daily and do not smoke. Drink rarely, as good as not drinking. Please advise some remedial measures.

I wouldn't wanna be in a club that wouldn't let me in...

I would try drinking some tea before bed, and reading a book.  There are special teas that help with relaxing you and making you tired.  You could also try a glass of wine, instead of the tea.  If these things don't work, there are a lot of non-addictive drugs like lunesta, that are known to really help.  Maybe it would be a good idea to see your doctor to see what they recommend as well.  Good luck.

Try

L-Ornithine capsules.

Take 2 ornithine capsules (500 mg) on the first night just before bedtime.  Take 4 ornithine capsules on the second night.  Increase to 6 capsules on the third night and six capsules on the next night.  Stay at 4-6 capsules until you are sleeping soundly all night.

I have been battling insomnia for the past 5 years. It drives me crazy sometimes. I have tried the prescription meds, but was too afraid of becoming addicted. I tried no caffeine in the evening, warm bath, and it didn't help. I finally decided that I was going to try a natural remedy and I found a great site that had a great guarantee on the product. I read a lot of great info there and I received a free product. I think that anytime you can substitute an herbal remedy for prescriptions....it is a good thing. Good luck and I will include the link I was referring to.

Hi - I've been a poor sleeper most of my adult life but I suffered from horrible insomnia after the birth of my first child...most likely due to hormonal and/ or thyroid imbalance.  If you're suffering from chronic insomnia & nothing has worked for you, you may want to try Trazadone...I had tried everything else (otc, herbals, ambien, xanax, prozac, etc), it was the only thing that worked for me...it was a lifesaver!  If you're not at that point, some things that might help are milk & honey at night, Tylenol pm, herbal remedies.  Talk to your dr if you haven't already to rule out medical conditions....many thyroid patients have difficulty sleeping.  Good luck to you, I know how hard it can be!
