Be happy.

Is this art or animal abuse?

In 2007, a so-called artist named Guillermo Habacuc Vargas (I probably have the spelling wrong), took a stray dog from the street, tied him up in a gallery and left him to slowly starve and die.

Guillermo Habacuc Vargas had 2 children catch this dog. He paid the kids for this. He then chained the dog and used the dog as “art”. He told everyone not to feed this dog. The dog died in the gallery. He calls himself an artist.

In that event, (in which the dog died) he was chosen to represent his country in the “Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008?.

There will always be cultural boundaries and different definitions of what is defined as “art”, but I’ve always maintained that any sort of suffering is pointless. Especially when something like this was preventable.

Do you agree? Was/is this animal abuse? Should he be awarded by "Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008"?

There are petitions going around trying to ban him. (See here and here). Do you agree with them? Should he be banned?

Never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about.

This Guillermo Habacuc Vargas is less than a human being. He deserves to be tortured until he dies a miserable death. What he did is not art, it's animal abuse. Animal abuse is unacceptable in any shape or form. I feel sick just looking at the pictures.

I've signed the petitions. I hope this guy burns in hell.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Dogs In Danger

This is without a doubt in my mind the most despicable act I have ever heard of. This Guillermo Habacuc Vargas is an animal abuser and deserves to be tied up himself and left to starve to death. I had a chance to check out the petitions (and while they weren't in English, I was able to understand the gist of them to sign them and tell the world what I think of this idiot) and wanted to say thanks for including them in your posting.

I am in shock and just cannot believe there are people like this in our world today who are so unbelieveably stupid and think that animal suffering is art. This is not art. It is cruel and inhumane and I hope this idiot is punished. Even worse, for someone to ask him to represent his country for this so-called "art", it makes my heart sick. This guy deserves more than just being banned. Karma's a bitch and I'm sure it will come to bite him in the ass; I only hope sooner rather than later.

I think there is nothing artistic about this, I feel sick. The picture where all the people are standing around and that poor dog is lying on the ground makes me angry! I agree with another response you got, I had a hard time with the petitions too, but think he should be banned and put in jail.
