how to stop large text forcing cells apart...

The table cells obviously widen which pulls the images apart thus rendering the design a mess. I can , but it does limit how I create the page. Do I use CSS to specify a fixed text size? Or layers instead of pt), et cetera. This can create problems if the text is then to small for some people
