After putting up my ceiling fan w/light. . .it ...

After putting up my ceiling fan w/light. . .it doesn't seem to work properly, it hums when I turn it on. A dimmer switch turns it on,(it was already there for the ceiling light) could that be the reason for it not working,HELP! What to do! thank you!

There are usually plastic washers/bushings at the point where blade hardware is attached to bottom of motor unit if not properly installed or not completely ther will be a humming or unnatural noise when the unit is on. Recheck the washer/bushing for fit & that should do the trick.

I assume that he fan turns as it should but it just hums. If that's the problem then it's probably your dimmer. You need to change it to one that is designed for a fan, not a light.
