When I go into my sent mail and reread a message ...

When I go into my sent mail and reread a message, a check mark appears under the "i" icon and I can't get rid of it.  Why?  HELP ME

AOL Mail - Community Support Team

The checkmark says that you read the message. Why do you want to get rid of it?
