I have found a wooden box about 8" x 15". After removing the lid, you will see 5 rows of small pegs. There are 12 pegs in each row. On each peg is an egg shaped (flat top ond bottom)piece of metal(maybe stainless steel. They appear to be weights of some sort. Starting in the back row and going towards the front, the "weights" get smaller. There is also a metal wire in the box, about 36" long. One end of the wire goes through and wraps areound a small piece of metal. It appears that you take one of the "weights and thead it onto the wire. But from there I do not understand what it would be used for. I am thinking something for a musical instument. The owner was a music lover, especially french horn. The outside base of the box has a gold plate which says "Manufactured by Conrad of Baltimore". Does anyone know what this is used for?
