There are two people who are using my residential ...

There are two people who are using my residential address to have their hospital bills and collection statements sent to my home.

What can I do about this? Does anyone know if I am allowed to open their mail, since obviously the two people who are doing this have deliberately used my home address? 

I have sent back two items marked as "return to sender" but am getting more mail now with both their names on it, then I did just a few months ago. MY address is very apparent on the documents.

They are obviously using my residential address when they receive services that they can fudge around when it comes to receiving a bill in the mail..., UNLIKE electric/water/gas/garbage bills, residential phone bills and cable bills.

These two people used to live here, but that was 10 years ago!

They are my husband's ex-wife and her now-adult daughter.

Can anyone help me on this issue?  I have Googled and can't find any useful info.

This happened to me too.  I notified the post office several times and after 2 months, the mails stopped coming to my address.

Smile, it's contagious!

Write to the return address on envelop and tell them they do not reside at that address anymore and have not for 10 years.  Request that they stop sending mail to your address with the names of former tennants.  Use strong (but decent)language.   If it is a local company go there in person and tell them the same thing.    Call if possible.  Mark envelop "MOVED"; "ADDRESSEE UNKNOWN";  "Return to Sender,  Not Here, Gone.  Speak to your mail delivery person & have him/her stop delivery.    I didn't tell you to do this cause it's a crime to tamper with mail ~~ drop it in file 13; shread it.  Forget you ever got it.

I've lived at my current address nearly 10 years and still ocassionaly find mail in my box for the last tennant.  I just send it back and forget it.  

Eventually they will get the idea if you are persistent in your efforts. 

If all else fails and you are certain that they are still using your address, contact the post master general office.
