I live in New Brunswick, NJ born and raised. My beloved dog, Rex a 1 yr old pit bull was stolen almost 2 weeks ago, he disappeared from my fenced in yard. I have flooded my neighborhood with flyers, visited shelters, asked around, posted ads online and last night while still desperately looking for my dog found out information that was beyond shocking. People called "bunches" acquire animals dogs and cats and sell them to class B dealers. A buncher is a person who answers "free to good home" a person randomly acquires animals, they look for dogs who are left in the yard alone, dogs who are roaming the streets that are friendly and yes dogs with tags and collars. They sell them to class B dealers who are licensed in the state of NJ to have animals on their property. These dealers house animals in unsanitary conditions, little food all with the intention of selling them to labs as far as Japan. And the suffering doesn't stop there for the poor animal it continues for years in a cage constantly being hurt as bad as cutting pieces of the dogs thigh off for experiments. I do not want to live in a world like this. Looking for my house dog has brought me into the ugliest most painful world of animal abuse. And I have not added that if Rex was taken for dog fighting......I would hope he got hit by a car then suffer years of abuse like I have seen the past week and a half. Keeping big pit bulls in crates sized for a puppy in basements, only taken out when transported to a fight ring. They starve them, hurt them and isolate the dogs to make them mean. A pit bull that is a "winner" will have scars that look like gun shot wounds all over their face, they inject them with stimulants to make the dog more aggressive. Fighters too steal dogs, because why pay for a dog that you know your going to kill. Little dogs are used for "blooding" which is ripping the dog from limb to limb. Taking a pug and throwing it to a mean aggressive hungry pit bull who has been in a cage of his own piss and shit for a week. Or they like big dogs that have a lot of endurance...Labs a dog fighter will break their legs then put it in the "pit" with a few pit bulls. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND this behavior. I will mourn my dog until he comes home....the things that people do for money. And that is all it is about. Pit bulls are the sweetest breed I have ever owned, and I have had a lot of GREAT dogs. They love you so much, on your lap kisses it is so sad that all most humans do with such a wonderful breed is exploit them. It is hard to believe it is legal for people to breed and collect dogs for the purpose of resale to places that do research on them. I will never forget my dogs eyes, so gentle and trusting....I pray to god he does not suffer I know I will for a long time...5 years will pass and I will know Rex could still be alive.
