I'm interested in:

in my history class we have to write a paper ...

in my history class we have to write a paper debating if we like they authors point of view, style how they wrote it, and if we agree on their point of view. the history book has to be about american history and the event being disscussed has to be between the dates of 1865 and now. can you recommend any good books that are interesting and show the authors point of view that can be agreed on or argued? also not that great in length, for this is not my only class where i have to read a book.

A foolish heart will call on you to toss your dreams away, then turn around and blame you for the way you went astray. - Grateful Dead, Foolish Heart

I would read the book "Night" by Eli Wiesel.  It is a wonderfully written, short book (less than 100 pages) that tells the true story of Eli and his family during the Holocaust.  I know it sounds depressing, but this is such an important book to read, and it would be a very easy book to write your paper on.  I hope this helps.

There are 2 books by Tom Brokaw, "The Greatest Generation" and "The Greatest Generation Speaks.  They are not small books, probably 300 pages each but are so good you could probably read them in a week or so.

They tell inspiring stories of the average Joe, the GI Joes during postwar America.  Many are the people left behind to cope with things a spouse, father, brother would have to if they were there.  Brocaw mirrors a reflection that may be a true legacy for many years to come.

Hope this helps.
