This is tricky.

I would first recommend you actually see a doctor (not the chiropractor) about this if it is chronic.

This would need more information though to give any ideas for treatment.  For instance, is this from repetitive motion to the area, a one time accident, stress?  Is this muscular or a change/chipping to bones.

This is why you need to please see a doctor.

You can try steambaths, saunas, breathing exercises and light stretching exercises.  This is assuming it's muscular.

Outside of this, there are natural muscular relaxant suppliments you can try.  However, visit your doctor first.  If, for some reason, you are also taking any natural suppliments/herbs/etc for this, please tell your doctor which ones.

Best of luck.  I wouldn't want to wish this pain on anyone.

It may be skeletal and then you'll need some professional help. If You have a muscle cramp (they can get really bad sometimes) try keeping the area warm and loosen it up by moving around.

As JtotheA said, first see a doctor to rule out serious problems.

What you think about you bring about!!!

You should really see a chiropractor first, to make sure it's nothing more than just a sore neck...save up for it!! your health is one of the most important things to take care of!!...one of those contour pillows could help, the memory foam type is the best..I use one myself..

You have to see a medical professional. You can't mess around with this sort of thing unless you have eliminated potentially serious conditions first. Having said that, there are a lot of treatments for chronic neck pain that don't involve surgery. I have a herniated cervical disc that happened as a result of whiplash neck injury and have spent a lot of time looking around the web for help. One book that keeps coming up is: Treat Your Own Neck 4th Edition by Robin McKenzie. I haven't read it but by the reviews I've seen, maybe I should. Check it out on Amazon but see a doctor first.

What about me???? I am Changing!!

Go to the library and get information on pressure points and how to relieve pain. This is something you can actully do on your own. The hands and feet can help you control pain and disconfort. You can Are you in need of a new pillow? You may want to give this a try as it is so much less than going to a chiropractor who is going to over charge you, manipulate your neck, back and suggest you keep coming back for more adjustments all the while making him / her tons of money while you continue to have problems. If you don't find relief through this, you may also want to consider heat/ cold therpy on your neck and if all else fails, go to a clinic and have someone check it out. Sress can cause alot of pain also. Depending on your age and work habits, you may of strained it at one time and now it's cathing up to you. Rest when you can and try to find a quiet place for relaxation during the day even if only for a short while.
