Do not get ripped off when there is a death in your family

Probably the best place would be your local funeral home.  Most F.H. sell either burial insurance or you might want to consider a pre-arranged service.  Just check to see if it is transferable, in case of moving, etc.

Do not get ripped off when there is a death in your family

In most cities there are "discount" funeral homes.  Normally, no fuss or up selling.  Most or these funeral homes sell burial insurance or pre-need accounts.  Be sure to find out if the firm is affiliated or a satellite of a with a reputable Funeral Home.  If not, there have been many cases of "fly by night" operations, where the owner/manager takes the money a flees.

EXAMPLE -

In Las Vegas, Nevada, a very large and the most reputable Funeral Home is Palm Moetuary.  They also have a "discount firm" with a different name.  The prices are less but the service is superb.

Funeral costs now represent the third-largest expenditure most families will make in a lifetime. One of the best plans to prevent unnecessary emotional expenses by the family and to reduce the cost of funerals is to to purchase burial insurance. This type of insurance is usually offered by a local funeral home that guarantees a funeral at a specific predetermined price An alternative to the traditional burial plan is something called “pre-need” insurance. This type of burial plan allows you to prepay for your burial expenses at current prices. It also lets you plan all aspects of the funeral, from the music played and passages read to the clothing you’ll be buried in.
