Do you think a terrorist attack would help the GOP ...

I think that it is true that terrorism during the time that republicans have been in control, over the past 8 years, have helped to shift focus to doing the obvious (fighting terrorism), rather than focusing on America's many domestic problems.  September 11th made Bush and Guiliani look so great, because they reacted in the only way that was appropriate given an attack at that scale on US soil.  It has been a while since then, and also the semi-pointless wars that have been fought in Iraq and Afghanistan are no longer just theoretical, making the GOP look good.  Simply put, I think that the GOP in theory is able to take a strong stand internationally, but in the end isn't very effective at all.  Another attack would put Bush on the defensive again and allow him to do what he does best, talk a bunch of garbage that never really becomes reality. 

Yes. Terrorist attack will help the GOP. Right or wrong, democrats generally appear to be weak on defense.

They more than appear weak when it comes to defense they are weak. Hillary was just addmitting the truth to the people, but we probably wont be attacked again until we have a democrat in office who will weaken our defnses and make us vonerable to such an attack, and then everyon will say "why oh why did we vote democrate" after the attack the democrates will do nothing to retaliate, or maybe they will put sanctions on the country they think is responsible instead of looking for enemies withen that country the whole country will starve and and began to hate us, meanwhile our old enemies and new enemies will see how weak we are plot to take advantage. Vote mccain!!! It could save your life!!!
