I think that love is love... and I'm not sure that this will necessarily cost his job if the crush is consensual. If he acts in a respectful way, then why not? There is always the chance that they were meant for one another and that if it meant that he needed to, he could get a different job. I think that if they are both at the place where they're flirting, then maybe he should let his boss know that he knows that it's not the most convenient thing, but that he really loves being with her and talking with her. And outside of anything having to do with work, he fancies her. I think that there's no way that he could be penalized for confessing something like this. Maybe she feels the same way.
