What are the advantages of yedda over wikipedia or google?

It looks like this site ("yedda") has the same goal like wikipedia, and there the features are more mature in terms of editidng and certainty of the answers. What are the advantages of using this site over getting your answer in sites like wikipedia, or just google it?

Rejected slogan #235:

Yedda - a brain the size of a planet.

Demian, the goal of Wikipedia is to be an online encyclopedia:

"a comprehensive written compendium that contains information on all branches of knowledge or a particular branch of knowledge." (source: Wikipedia Smile)

The goal of Yedda is to be a platform for exchanging personal knowledge - where the trigger is your question, with its unique emphasize and circumstances.

And when you post your question, anyone who has relevant knowledge can post answers or comments to the question page. The interaction model is one of conversation, where different people may have different, conflicting, and possibly all correct answers.

This is different from Wikipedia, where the interaction model revolves around creating a single unified balanced view (page) for each topic.

Both models (and quite a few others as well...) are valid, each one with its own strengths and weaknesses.

Yedda is about questions and answers, and Yedda's users ask many questions that the answers for simply can't be found in Wikipedia or Google. See, for example, the questions about buying a dress for bred's girldfriend, or ralph's gay(?) friend.

You're right when you say that many of the questions are questions that the answers for can be found somewhere else on the web, but not everyone has the skill to find everything they need.

Let's be clear about it: yedda won't surpass yahoo answers in terms of quantity, or Google answers in terms of qualit, as Google answers are paid for.

You won't neither have the same trouble with Yedda, that you may have with Wikipedia, where the information often varies according to political, religious or business wise criteria.

For me, what makes Yedda much more interesting, is that it is not related to any existing Yahoo/Google/Microsoft/EBay compendium. Ie the information is shared there, will not - maybe I'm wrong - by any of these big companies, in order to make money on top of my Web usage. And this makes a great difference.
